……………………………….. Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata was a visionary who saw corporate autonomy as the most potent stimulant to industrial growth. The industrialist giant believed in organizational decentralization. JRD’s passion for planes led him to set up Air-India in 1948. And when it was nationalized in 1953 , under his chairmanship Air-India was ranked among the finest airlines in the world.
JRD was a institution-builder too. The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and the International Institute of Population Studies were as dear to him as his business. For , they represented the progress that had to make in sync with business. He always dreamt a greater destiny of India. His ironic thoughts show way to economic growth as well as make India self-sufficient and strong in from Steel-making to consumables. It makes a century of Trust.
